Grilled Sausages
A great beer snack and a hot dish for lunch or dinner. Grilled sausages are very quick, enjoyable, and convenient to make. Aromatic apple cider, in which the sausages are simmered, soaks into the meat, and apple mustard adds bright, tangy notes.

Preparation
Step 1
How do you make grilled sausages? The recipe is very simple. First, prepare the ingredients listed. You can use grill sausages made from any meat: pork, beef, or lamb. I used pork sausages.
Step 2
Prick the sausages in several places with a wooden skewer. This keeps the casing from bursting from juices building up inside during cooking.
Step 3
Peel the onions and slice into half-rings. To keep onion fumes from irritating your eyes, rinse the onion and the knife with cold water. A cutting board won’t absorb the onion smell as much if you rub it with a piece of lemon before slicing.
Step 4
Place the sausages and onions into a grill pan. Pour the cider over everything.
Step 5
Put the pan over high heat and simmer, turning the sausages occasionally, for about 20 minutes. If the cider boils too vigorously, reduce the heat.
Step 6
Remove the sausages from the pan. Drain off the liquid, leaving only the onions in the pan. Add sugar to the onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes. When the onions turn golden-brown, push them to the edge of the pan.
Step 7
Return the sausages to the pan and sear on all sides until golden-brown. Check doneness by cutting one with a knife: the juices should run clear. Turn off the heat.
Step 8
Now make the sauce. You can replace this homemade sauce with any store-bought sauce you like.
Step 9
In a small bowl, combine apple jam, whole-grain mustard, and Dijon mustard. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
Step 10
Transfer the sausages to a plate and serve with the caramelized onions and apple mustard. Enjoy!
