Ghanaian Poloo (Sweet Coconut Biscuits)

Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, nutmeg, coconut flakes. Stir everything together.
Step 2
Add butter and rub it into the flour mixture with your fingers. Add vanilla and then slowly add water until you form a firm dough (not sticky).
Step 3
Pinch off small portions of dough. Roll into small logs and twist, or shape into small flattened discs (traditional shapes).
Step 4
Heat oil on medium. Fry the poloo pieces until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 5
They become crunchier as they cool! Serve with tea, hot chocolate, or as a snack anytime.
