Step 1
How do you prepare garlic scape paste with oil for winter? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. The quantity of ingredients is given for 1 kg of already cleaned and chopped garlic scapes.
Step 2
Rinse the scapes in cold water and dry them. Cut off the tough part of the scapes, leaving only the soft green part. Chop the washed scapes and run them through a meat grinder. To get a paste-like consistency, it is best to grind the scapes through the meat grinder twice.
Step 3
Add salt and vegetable oil to the resulting mixture and stir. The amount of salt and oil can be adjusted to your taste. I leave a little of the paste on the top shelf of the refrigerator; this seasoning keeps well there for 6 weeks.
Step 4
I divide the rest of the seasoning into plastic bags and freeze it, then take it out of the freezer as needed. Unlike boiled paste, frozen paste does not lose its taste or aroma.
