Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a fruit jelly dessert? Prepare the ingredients. You can choose absolutely any juice for this dessert, but it should be without pulp so the jelly turns out clear. The fruit selection can also vary; I used grapes, mandarins, and kiwi. Berries, apples, pears, oranges, and peaches also work well.
Step 2
Pour cold drinking water over the gelatin and leave it to swell for 15 minutes.
Step 3
While the gelatin is swelling, prepare the fruit. Wash the grapes and remove them from the stems. It is best to use a seedless variety.
Step 4
Wash the kiwi and peel it. Cut it into small pieces. Important: kiwi and pineapple contain substances that weaken the gelling properties of gelatin. Therefore, if you use these fruits, you need to scald them with boiling water, add more gelatin, or replace them with other fruits altogether.
Step 5
Wash the mandarins, peel them, and separate into segments. Remove the membrane from each segment. I used canned mandarins in juice and used their fruit juice for the jelly as well.
Step 6
Pour the swollen gelatin into a small saucepan and warm it over low heat until fully dissolved. Pour the fruit juice into the hot gelatin and mix.
Step 7
Take a suitable mold for the dessert. I use a large rectangular silicone mold, but you can also make the jelly in portions, using molds, dessert bowls, or pretty glasses. Place some of the prepared fruit into the mold. Pour half of the gelatin mixture over the fruit. Put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Then add the remaining fruit and pour over the remaining gelatin mixture. If it has started to set, warm it again. Put the mold in the refrigerator until completely set, about 4–5 hours.
Step 9
Before serving, turn the jelly out onto a plate and serve. Enjoy!
