Advice
Be prepared that you might need more or less flour than specified in the recipe. Focus not on the exact amount, but on achieving the desired dough consistency.
Preparation
Step 1
Choose thick sour cream; instead of baking powder, you can use baking soda. Take the butter out of the fridge in advance so it becomes soft. Defrost the strawberries thoroughly and drain excess juice, or use fresh berries instead.
Step 2
First, prepare the dough for the pie. In a bowl, whisk together the sour cream, sugar, and softened butter until smooth.
Step 3
Add sifted flour mixed with baking powder into the bowl and mix well.
Step 4
Gather the finished dough into a ball, trying not to knead it too much. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
Step 5
Prepare the filling for the pie. Whisk the eggs, sour cream, sugar, vanilla sugar, and flour until smooth. The consistency should be slightly runny.
Step 6
Press the dough into the bottom of a baking pan (I used a 22 cm pan), flattening it with your hands and forming small sides.
Step 7
Cut the defrosted strawberries into quarters and arrange them over the dough.
Step 8
Pour the filling over the strawberries and gently shake or tap the pan on the table to help the filling settle between the berries. Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C (about 350°F) for about 30–50 minutes.
Step 9
Decorate the finished pie as you like and serve cooled - it tastes better that way. Enjoy your meal!
