Preparation
Step 1
Use parboiled long-grain rice for cooking. It stays separate and fluffy. You can adjust the amount, spices, and proportions to your taste.

Take a deep frying pan. Peel and slice a couple of garlic cloves. Pour a little vegetable oil into the hot pan and add the sliced garlic. Once it browns, remove it - the oil will absorb its flavor and aroma.
Step 3
Add the parboiled rice to the pan and stir. It will soak up the fragrant oil. Fry the rice for a couple of minutes on low heat. It will turn transparent and then golden.
Step 4
Pour hot water over the rice. Add salt and spices to taste. Stir and bring to a boil.
Step 5
Cook the rice on low heat for about 15 minutes. It will gradually absorb all the liquid and expand. Covering with a lid is optional but will speed up cooking.
Step 6
The cooked rice will be soft and fluffy. Stir and remove from heat. Serve as a side with any meat or fish dish. Enjoy!
