French Fries in a Multicooker

Very simple, even a child can handle it - appetizing and tasty! French fries in a multicooker are perfect when you don’t have access to a stove, for example at a summer house or in a dorm. Even without a deep fryer, you can enjoy golden fried potatoes.

Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Take large potatoes - 4 pieces will be enough for 2 portions. Don’t fry too many at once; it’s better to do several batches. Use refined sunflower oil for frying.
Step 2
Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water, scrubbing off dirt. Peel them and dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Cut into long sticks. Try to make them even so they cook evenly.
Step 3
Place the sliced potatoes on a paper towel and pat them dry to remove excess starch - dry potatoes will turn out more golden when fried.
Step 4
Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Adjust the amount depending on the bowl size and potato volume - they should float freely in the oil. Select a frying mode - “Fry,” “French Fries,” or “Bake,” depending on your model. If you can set the temperature, choose 285-320 °F (140-160 °C). Heat the oil.
Step 5
To check if the oil is hot enough, drop in a small piece of potato. If bubbles appear, it’s ready. Carefully place the potatoes into the oil.
Step 6
Fry with the lid open. Cooking time depends on your multicooker power: some models need 15-20 minutes, mine took 30. Keep in mind the fries won’t be as golden as deep-fried ones - they will only lightly brown. Salt to taste at the end.
Step 7
Remove the potatoes with a plastic slotted spoon. Optionally place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
