Five-Minute Plum Jam
Bright, with a rich taste and color. Simply a dream. Five-Minute Plum Jam is incredibly easy to make. Even a beginner cook can handle it. It turns out fragrant and moderately thick. You can use it for sandwiches, in porridge, or in various pies.

Step 1
How do you make five-minute plum jam? Prepare the necessary ingredients. There are only two of them. Choose ripe plums without damage. Remove the stems and wash the plums well under running water to remove any dirt. The amount of sugar is approximate. Adjust it according to the sweetness of the plums themselves.
Step 2
Cut the plums in half and remove the pits. You can leave the plums in halves, or cut them into slices or cubes.
Step 3
Transfer the cut plums to an enamel or glass pot. Do not use aluminum, so the jam does not oxidize from the fruit juice.
Step 4
Cover the plums with sugar, put on a lid, and leave them at room temperature for several hours so the plums release their juice. Do not add all the sugar at once. Add only about two-thirds of the total amount first. During the first cooking, taste the jam. If it seems too tart, you can add a little more sugar.
Step 5
When the plums have released their juice, place the pot over the heat and bring everything to a boil. Stir the jam from time to time so it does not burn.
Step 6
When the jam comes to a boil, reduce the heat and cook it for 5 minutes. Plums soften very quickly, and the jam becomes a beautiful bright color. If foam forms during cooking, remove it with a spoon.
Step 7
Wash the jars prepared for the jam with baking soda and sterilize them in any convenient way. You can sterilize them in the microwave or over a pot of boiling water. Pour boiling water over the lids. Pour the hot jam into the jars and close them with the lids.
Step 8
Turn the jar of jam upside down and wrap it in a blanket in that position. Let the jam cool completely. Why wrap it in a blanket? When wrapped, the jam cools very slowly and becomes thicker.

Store the cooled jars of pitted plum jam in a cool place.
