Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Use whatever fish you like. You can also use frozen fish mix (defrost before cooking).
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200C.
Step 3
Place the rutabaga and potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water, bring to the boil, and cook for 15-20 minutes until soft. Drain, mash well, season, and set aside.
Step 4
While the vegetables cook, add the cheese and stock to a small saucepan and whisk until mostly smooth. Warm gently until melted and combined, then add the cornflour mixture and cook until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat and season.
Step 5
Fold the fish and peas into the cheese sauce and transfer the mixture to a medium-sized ovenproof pie dish.
Step 6
Spoon the prepared mash over the top of the filling, smoothing it to cover completely, and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is gently browned. Optional: garnish with chopped fresh herbs before serving.
