Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Kefir that has been open for a little while works well for this recipe. Warm it until pleasantly warm.
Step 2
Pour the warmed kefir into a deep mixing bowl.
Step 3
Add the sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix until the sugar begins to dissolve.
Step 4
Pour in the vegetable oil and mix.
Step 5
Gradually add the flour while whisking the batter. There is no need to use an electric mixer; a hand whisk is enough to make the batter smooth.
Step 6
Adjust the amount of flour according to the consistency. The finished batter should be thick, similar to thick sour cream.
Step 7
Heat a frying pan and add a little vegetable oil. Spoon the batter into the pan without spreading it; mound each portion slightly and let it spread naturally as it cooks.
Step 8
Cook the pancakes over low heat for about 1 minute on each side, until golden.
Step 9
Transfer the cooked pancakes to paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot with sour cream, sweetened condensed milk or jam.
