Easy bread and butter pudding

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

Slice your preferred type of bread, toast it lightly, then butter each slice. Arrange the slices in an overlapping pattern in the bottom of an ovenproof dish, leaving some edges sticking out so they crisp beautifully while baking. Scatter the raisins evenly over the top, pour the prepared egg mixture over the bread, ensuring it’s evenly soaked.
Step 4
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pudding is golden brown and set.

Serve warm with a generous pour of cream or custard for a classic, indulgent finish.
