Cutlets from Ground Meat with Onion

Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare the necessary ingredients and spices for tender homemade pork-and-beef cutlets.
Step 2
Take a deep bowl, add 150 g (about 5.3 oz) of rye bread crumb pieces, pour in 200 ml (about ¾ cup + 2 tbsp) of meat broth (or boiled water), and soak the bread.
Step 3
Finely chop one large onion weighing about 150 g (5.3 oz).
Step 4
In a large bowl, place 500 g (about 1.1 lb) of mixed ground meat and add the chopped onion.
Step 5
Add the soaked bread pieces into the bowl with onion and ground meat.
Step 6
Press 2 garlic cloves and add them to the bowl along with salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Mix everything thoroughly with your hands until the mixture is smooth. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, mix again. Take a portion of the mixture, pat it firmly between your hands, and shape into a dense cutlet.

Coat the cutlets in a mixture of wheat flour and breadcrumbs, giving them the desired shape.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the cutlets on one side over medium heat until golden brown.

Flip the cutlets, cover with a lid, and continue frying over low heat for 7-10 minutes until fully cooked.
