Step 1
How do you make crispy fried onions for hot dogs, salads, and snacks? It’s very easy - first, prepare all the necessary ingredients. If you like, you can also add your favorite spices and seasonings.

Peel the onions, rinse well under cold water, and cut into medium pieces.

Put the sliced onions into a suitable container with a lid. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Step 4
Close the container and shake well so the onions are evenly coated with the seasonings. Leave the onions covered for 5-10 minutes.

Add the flour to the onions, close the lid, and shake well again.
Step 6
Heat a deep fryer, skillet, or saucepan with vegetable oil very well. Add the prepared onions and fry over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, until richly golden, stirring the onions in the oil occasionally.
Step 7
Transfer the fried onions onto a paper towel or into a sieve to remove excess oil.
Step 8
Put the finished fried onions into a suitable bowl and use as a topping for your favorite dishes, fast food, etc. They’re also delicious sprinkled over dumplings, boiled potatoes, or fried mushrooms. Enjoy!
