Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use mussels, shrimp and squid separately or replace them with a ready-made seafood mix. Thaw the seafood in advance, then rinse and dry the mussels. Use pasta made from durum wheat, such as spaghetti or linguine. Take the cream out of the refrigerator beforehand so it is not too cold.
Step 2
Remove the skin and thin membrane from the squid, then take out the transparent cartilage from inside. Rinse the squid thoroughly, pat it dry and cut it into short strips.
Step 3
Peel the shrimp, removing the shells, heads and tails, then rinse and dry them. Use peeled shrimp of any preferred size and variety.
Step 4
Bring a large pot of water to a boil, season it with salt and add the pasta. Stir well to prevent sticking and cook at a gentle boil until al dente, following the timing indicated on the package.
Step 5
Peel the garlic and cut it into thin slices.
Step 6
Drain the cooked pasta in a colander. Add a small amount of olive oil and toss.
Step 7
Gently heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the sliced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, then remove it from the pan so the oil retains its aroma. For a stronger garlic flavor, finely chop or press the garlic and leave it in the pan.
Step 8
Add the prepared seafood to the pan. Cook the mussels, shrimp and squid over medium heat for 1–2 minutes, stirring continuously.
Step 9
Pour in the room-temperature cream and stir. Bring it just to a boil, then simmer the seafood gently in the cream for 1–2 minutes.
Step 10
Add the pasta to the pan, season with ground black pepper or other spices to taste and stir well. Heat over low heat for 1 minute so the pasta absorbs the creamy sauce.
Step 11
Serve the creamy seafood pasta with mussels, shrimp and squid immediately.
