Preparation
Step 1
To make the cake rise well and turn out soft and fluffy, all ingredients should be at room temperature. Take the eggs out of the fridge in advance. If you’re short on time, place them briefly in warm water.
Step 2
First, melt the butter using any convenient method - in a microwave, water bath, or saucepan with a thick bottom. Let the melted butter cool slightly. Use natural, high-quality butter without vegetable additives.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs. Wash them first, as even clean shells may contain bacteria. Add vanilla and pour in the condensed milk. Choose good-quality condensed milk made only from milk and sugar.
Step 4
Add the cooled melted butter to the bowl and whisk everything together by hand - no need for a mixer.
Step 5
Combine the flour with baking powder, then sift it into the egg mixture. Sifting helps to aerate the flour, making the cake light and fluffy when baked.
Step 6
Mix the batter again with a whisk until smooth. It should have a consistency similar to slightly thick sour cream. The amount of flour may vary slightly - adjust to get the right texture.
Step 7
Use any heatproof baking pan. If you’re using silicone, no need to grease it. Metal, ceramic, or glass pans should be lightly oiled to prevent sticking. Pour in the batter evenly.
Step 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 30-50 minutes, depending on your oven and pan size. Check doneness with a wooden skewer - if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Let it cool and remove it from the pan.
Step 9
Before serving, dust with powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy your cake!
