Cod fish cakes

A classic Danish-style fish recipe. Pan-fried to golden perfection and served with homemade mayonnaise. Ideal as a flavorful main or appetizer.

- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Combine the fish with the cream, lemon zest, egg, flour, salt, and pepper in a food processor and pulse until smooth and well incorporated. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and fold in the chopped dill and capers. The resulting mixture will be slightly sticky.
Step 2
Lightly flour your hands and divide the mixture into 8-12 portions, depending on your preferred size. Shape each portion into a flat, round patty.
Step 3
Heat the butter in a frying pan until foaming and carefully fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are golden-brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and keep warm while preparing the mayonnaise.
Step 4
For the mayonnaise, place the egg, vinegar, and salt into a blender or food processor. Turn the machine on and slowly drizzle the oil through the lid’s opening, allowing it to emulsify into a thick, creamy mayonnaise.
Step 5
Serve the patties warm, accompanied by the fresh, homemade mayonnaise.
