Classic Meringue Pastry

Incredibly elegant dessert made from simple ingredients! A very easy recipe for airy meringue pastries with powdered sugar that will delight with their exquisite flavor and impress everyone.

Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all ingredients and spices for making delicious meringue pastries with powdered sugar.
Step 2
Take a clean, dry deep bowl. Separate the egg whites from the yolks of two eggs. Add a pinch of salt, then beat the whites on low speed until light foam forms.
Step 3
Add 100 g of powdered sugar to the egg whites in 2-3 portions.
Step 4
Mix the egg whites with powdered sugar on low mixer speed.
Step 5
After adding all sugar, beat on slightly higher speed for 3 minutes, then gradually increase speed and continue until stiff and stable peaks form.
Step 6
Add a pinch of citric acid (or ½ tsp lemon juice) and beat again until well combined.
Step 7
Fill a piping bag with the meringue. Optionally, add ground nuts, chocolate, or dried berries to taste.
Step 8
Line a baking sheet with parchment. Pipe medium-sized meringues; optionally color them with food coloring.
Step 9
Place the tray in a preheated oven at 100°C (212°F). Reduce the temperature to 90°C (194°F) and bake for 1 hour without opening the oven. Leave in the switched-off oven for 20 minutes before removing.
