Preparation
Step 1
How to make a Margarita cocktail? Prepare the ingredients. We’ll need tequila - brand doesn’t matter. For orange liqueur, Cointreau is preferred as the classic choice. If needed, you can replace it with another orange liqueur, but then it won’t be quite a Margarita. From the lime we only need the juice, so bottled lime juice is also fine.
Step 2
Prepare the glass: wash it well and dry it. Moisten the rim and dip it into salt so a ring of salt stays around the edge.
Step 3
Put some ice into the blender jug. The amount is up to you. If you want to keep the drink strong, there’s no need to dilute it - even with ice.
Step 4
Pour the tequila into the same jug.
Step 5
Then add the orange liqueur.
Step 6
Add the lime juice. If you squeeze it from a fresh lime, first rinse the lime in very hot water or briefly scald it with boiling water - this helps it release more juice. Use a strainer so seeds don’t get into the drink.
Step 7
Blend everything.
Step 8
Strain the drink through a fine strainer.
Step 9
For women, the cocktail is served with a straw. One serving has about 280 calories. ABV is 24-25%.
