Preparation
Step 1
How do you make classic festive Mimosa salad with saury? Prepare the listed ingredients. Choose medium-sized potatoes and carrots. I used salad onion, but regular onion can also be used. My eggs were large; if yours are smaller, you can use 5 eggs. Wash all the vegetables beforehand and boil them in their skins until tender, then let them cool. Also boil the eggs and let them cool. Prepare a suitable dish for the salad.
Step 2
Carefully open the can of saury and drain off the liquid. In a deep bowl, or directly in the salad bowl, mash the fish with a fork. Place the mashed canned saury as the first layer in the salad bowl, pressing it down lightly.
Step 3
Peel the salad onion and chop it finely. Spread the chopped onion evenly over the fish.
Step 4
For convenience, you can transfer the mayonnaise to a pastry bag. Pipe a mayonnaise net over the onion layer. You can also skip the net and simply spread mayonnaise over the layer.
Step 5
Peel the potatoes and grate them on a medium or coarse grater. Spread the grated boiled potatoes evenly over the onion and mayonnaise layer. Pipe another mayonnaise net on top.
Step 6
Peel the boiled carrots and grate them on a medium or coarse grater. Spread the grated carrots evenly over the potato and mayonnaise layer. Pipe a mayonnaise net on top.
Step 7
Peel the boiled eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Grate the egg whites on a fine grater and spread them evenly over the carrot and mayonnaise layer. There is no need to spread mayonnaise over this layer.
Step 8
Wash the dill and dry it thoroughly. Finely chop the clean, dry dill, leaving a couple of sprigs whole for decorating the salad. Arrange the chopped dill around the edge of the salad bowl. Use the remaining dill sprigs to make flower stems.
Step 9
Grate the yolks on a fine grater and place them on the dill, imitating mimosa flowers. This decoration is optional. You can simply spread mayonnaise over the egg white layer and add the finely grated yolks as the final layer.
Step 10
Before serving, the salad should stand in the refrigerator so the layers soak up the mayonnaise and the salad does not seem dry. Enjoy!
