Chocolate fondue with fruit platter

A rich and glossy chocolate dipping sauce made with melted chocolate, golden syrup, and homemade sugar syrup - the perfect indulgent companion for a fresh fruit platter.

Preparation
Step 1
Heat the sugar and water together in a saucepan until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly into a syrup.
Step 2
Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water, making sure the base of the bowl does not touch the water.
Step 3
Stir in the golden syrup along with enough of the prepared sugar syrup to create a smooth, velvety sauce. (Caution: the chocolate mixture will be very hot, so allow it to cool slightly before serving.)
Step 4
Serve warm alongside a platter of assorted fresh fruit for dipping. Choose your favorite ripe, fresh, juicy fruits and berries.
