Preparation
Step 1
You can add to or replace the vegetable portion to your liking. You can also substitute the chicken with any other meat.
Step 2
Thaw chicken fillet in advance. Wash the meat, pat it dry, and cut it into medium pieces. You may substitute the fillet with other chicken parts.
Step 3
Wash broccoli and cut into florets. You can use fresh or frozen broccoli. If using frozen broccoli, thaw it first and drain any released water.
Step 4
Peel the carrot and grate it on a coarse grater. Recently, I’ve been using a Korean carrot grater - I like the shape of the vegetable shreds.
Step 5
Peel the onion and slice it into half rings. Adjust the onion size to your taste. If you or your children don’t like onions, you can omit them entirely.
Step 6
In a skillet over medium heat, heat vegetable oil. Add onion, carrot, and chicken. Fry, stirring, for 7-10 minutes.
Step 7
Add broccoli, stir, and heat through for 3-5 minutes.
Step 8
Pour cream into the skillet. Sprinkle with dried garlic, salt, pepper, and stir.
Step 9
Simmer over low heat with the lid on for 8-10 minutes, until the chicken and broccoli are cooked through.
Step 10
Divide the stewed chicken with broccoli in cream sauce onto plates and serve with a side dish or as a standalone meal. Enjoy!
