Preparation
Step 1
How to bake chicken drumsticks with potatoes in a roasting bag? Prepare all the ingredients. Instead of drumsticks, you can use other chicken parts, or cut a whole chicken into portions.
Step 2
Rinse the drumsticks under running water, pat dry, and salt them. If you like, remove the skin.
Step 3
Add pepper and any other seasonings to taste.
Step 4
Peel the garlic, press it through a garlic press (or chop it another way), and add it to the chicken.
Step 5
Pour in vegetable oil. You can use sunflower, olive, sesame, or grapeseed oil. Keep in mind that strongly flavored oils can change the dish’s aroma.
Step 6
Mix everything thoroughly with your hands so each piece is evenly coated in the marinade. If possible, let the chicken sit in the marinade for at least 10 minutes.
Step 7
While the meat marinates, prepare the potatoes. Scrub the potatoes under running water (a brush helps), pat dry, peel, and cut into large pieces. If the potatoes are small, you can leave them whole. For young potatoes in season, wash them well and you may leave the skin on.
Step 8
Take a roasting bag, seal one end, and put the potatoes inside.
Step 9
Peel the onion and slice it into thick wedges. If you prefer, slice into thin half-rings or dice it.
Step 10
Add the onion to the bag.
Step 11
Add a little salt to the vegetables in the bag.
Step 12
If desired, add a pinch of herbes de Provence or other favorite spices.
Step 13
Drizzle vegetable oil over the vegetables.
Step 14
Add the chicken drumsticks to the bag.
Step 15
Seal the bag on the second end and mix everything well прямо inside the bag.
Step 16
Place the bag with potatoes and chicken on a baking sheet. Use a toothpick to make a few small holes so steam can escape; otherwise pressure may tear the bag.
Step 17
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 356°F (about 350-355°F) for 30-40 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of the chicken pieces and the potatoes.
Step 18
Then cut the bag open and return the baking sheet to the oven for about 15 minutes so the dish browns lightly.
Step 19
How to check doneness: the potatoes should be soft and easy to pierce with a knife. Pierce the meat near the bone - if the juices run clear (not pink), it’s done.
Step 20
Serve the finished dish on plates, adding fresh vegetables and any herbs you like. Enjoy!
