- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a salad with chicken, beans, and croutons? Prepare all the ingredients from the list. Use canned beans so the salad doesn’t take long. Turkey can be used instead of chicken. Rinse and pat dry the lettuce leaves, bell pepper, and peeled onion.
Step 2
Cut white bread into small cubes.
Step 3
Toast the bread in a preheated dry skillet until the sides are golden, using heat slightly above medium. Stir constantly so the croutons don’t burn. Remove the skillet from the heat, add vegetable oil, garlic powder, a pinch of salt, and dried oregano to the croutons. Mix so the spices and salt distribute evenly. Leave the croutons in the hot skillet for a while so they dry out further.
Step 4
Remove the chicken meat from the bone and cut into cubes. I used chicken breast. Add a little vegetable oil to a skillet and quickly fry the meat over high heat for about 5 minutes, stirring. If desired, add a pinch of your favorite spices while frying. Remove from the heat and lightly salt the meat.
Step 5
Place chopped lettuce leaves on the bottom of a wide, flat plate. Which leaves are best? Use a mix of greens: lettuce, romaine, lamb’s lettuce, iceberg, or others - these varieties pair well with the ingredients.
Step 6
Spread the fried chicken over the leaves in an even, thin layer.
Step 7
Drain the beans in a colander, rinse under cold running water, then shake the colander to remove excess water. Add the beans to the lettuce and chicken.
Step 8
Next comes the onion. I used red onion - it looks great in the finished dish and has a mild flavor ideal for salads. Slice the onion into thin strips or half-rings and add as the next layer.
Step 9
Cut the bell pepper lengthwise into two halves. Remove the seeds and core. Slice into thin strips or half-rings - whichever is more convenient.
Step 10
After the pepper, add a layer of grated cheese and croutons.
Step 11
Add mayonnaise and mustard in portions. Done - ready to serve!
Step 12
Before eating, mix the salad well.
