About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
How to make cauliflower casserole with cheese? Prepare all the ingredients. Fresh cauliflower is best, but frozen works too - thaw it first and drain off the liquid. Use a large egg; if your eggs are small/medium, use two.
Step 2
Wash the cauliflower, remove thick core parts, and split into small florets.
Step 3
Boil the cauliflower in boiling, lightly salted water for about 7 minutes.
Step 4
Drain in a sieve and dry well.
Step 5
Crack the egg into a small bowl.
Step 6
Add sour cream. Any fat content works, but a thinner texture is better here - 10-15% is optimal.
Step 7
Add chopped dill. You can use any fresh herbs, and also dry spices: garlic powder, ground paprika, chili, etc.
Step 8
Mix until smooth. If the mixture seems too thick, add a little milk or even water - just 1 tablespoon.
Step 9
Add grated cheese. Any cheese works. I use mozzarella - it melts well, stretches, and, importantly, doesn’t form a hard crust on top. Grate it on any size grater. Mix.
Step 10
Grease an ovenproof baking dish with oil.
Step 11
Add the cauliflower.
Step 12
Pour the mixture evenly over it. Bake in a preheated 180°C / 356°F oven for about 40 minutes.
Step 13
The cauliflower-and-cheese casserole is ready. Let it cool a bit before serving. Enjoy!
