Preparation
Step 1
How do you make cabbage salad with green peas? Prepare all ingredients. You can use fresh or frozen peas. If the cucumbers are small, use 2-3. Tomatoes can be any size - the difference is only in how you cut them. Rinse the cucumbers and tomatoes under running water.
Step 2
I’m using frozen green peas. Drop them into boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Then drain in a colander and discard the water. Rinse the cooked peas 1-2 times with cold water.
Step 3
Thinly shred the cabbage and gently massage it with your hands. This makes it softer and juicier, so the salad turns out juicier too.
Step 4
Transfer the cabbage to a bowl (a wide glass salad bowl works well). Cut the cucumbers into batons and add them after the cabbage.
Step 5
Cut the tomatoes. If they’re large, halve them, remove the stem area, and cut into large wedges. Small cherry tomatoes can be cut into 2-4 pieces. Add the tomatoes to the salad.
Step 6
By now the peas should have cooled after cooking. Finely chop fresh dill and add it to the bowl along with the peas.
Step 7
Dress the salad with lemon juice and olive oil. Lightly salt to taste. If you like, you can use aromatic sunflower oil instead. For extra aroma, add a little seasoning with fragrant herbs.
Step 8
Mix all ingredients together. Transfer the salad to a serving bowl and serve.
Step 9
The finished salad is tasty and light. It complements any meat dish perfectly. Enjoy!
