Preparation
Step 1
Use odorless vegetable oil. Choose spices and seasonings according to your taste.
Step 2
Grate the peeled carrot on a coarse grater.
Step 3
Wash, dry, and finely chop parsley. You can use dill instead.
Step 4
Wash and dry the cabbage. Slice it thinly into strips.
Step 5
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. You can use any cheese - hard, semi-hard, or soft (like mozzarella). The main thing is that it’s tasty, high-quality, and without vegetable fat substitutes.
Step 6
Heat vegetable oil in a pan and add the prepared vegetables. Sauté the cabbage over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until soft. Season with salt and add basil or other spices of your choice. If the cabbage releases too much juice, don’t cover the pan, so the excess liquid evaporates.
Step 7
At the end of cooking, add parsley, stir, and simmer with greens for 5 minutes. Transfer the cooked cabbage to another bowl and let it cool slightly.
Step 8
Beat the eggs with a fork until smooth.
Step 9
Pour the egg mixture into the cabbage and mix well.
Step 10
Grease a baking dish (ceramic, metal, or glass) with a little vegetable oil. Spread the vegetable mixture evenly. (Dish size: about 27×17 cm / 10.5×6.7 in.)
Step 11
Evenly sprinkle the grated cheese over the cabbage.
Step 12
Place the dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 30-35 minutes, until a golden cheese crust forms. If the cheese browns too quickly but the casserole isn’t cooked through, cover with foil and continue baking. Adjust time depending on casserole thickness and your oven.
Step 13
Cut the finished casserole into portions and serve immediately. Enjoy!
