Preparation
Step 1
How do you make boiled cauliflower? Very easily! Prepare everything you need. Take a pot of suitable size, fill it with water, and place it over medium heat. At this stage, you can cover the pot with a lid so the water heats faster. Bring the water to a boil.
Step 2
As soon as the water boils, add salt to taste. I add 1 teaspoon of salt. But since tastes differ, you may need a different amount.
Step 3
You can use either fresh or frozen cauliflower. Fresh cauliflower should first be rinsed under running water and separated into florets. Be sure to check the cauliflower for pests. If you are using frozen cauliflower, there is no need to thaw it. But sometimes it sticks together into 1 large lump, so it should also be separated into florets.
Step 4
Place the cauliflower into the boiling water and cook it uncovered for about 10 minutes after the water returns to a boil, over medium heat. The cauliflower should become nicely tender, but not turn into mush. The cooking time is the same for both fresh and frozen cauliflower. If you like vegetables with a slight crunch, reduce the cooking time a little.
Step 5
If you need to stir the cauliflower while cooking, do it as carefully as possible so as not to break the delicate florets. For example, I did not stir the cauliflower at all during cooking. By the way, the shorter the heat treatment, the more benefits remain in the florets.
Step 6
Drain the cauliflower in a colander and wait a couple of minutes for the water to run off. After that, serve the boiled cauliflower immediately.
