Biscotti with hazelnuts and orange
Crisp, twice-baked hazelnut and orange biscotti - perfect for dunking in coffee. A simple dough baked into logs, sliced, and baked again for the ideal crunchy texture.

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170C and line a large baking tray with baking parchment.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar. Gradually add the eggs to form a dough, then mix in the hazelnuts and orange zest.
Step 3
Lightly flour your work surface, gently knead the dough, and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each into a log about 25cm/10in long and place both on the lined baking tray. Bake for 25 minutes.
Step 4
Remove from the oven and allow the logs to cool slightly. Slice each one into pieces 1½-2cm (⅝-¾in) thick and lay the slices flat on the tray.
Step 5
Return to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, then turn the slices over and bake for a further 5-7 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
