Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake beef with tomatoes and cheese in the oven? It’s very simple. First, prepare the ingredients from the list. If you’re using frozen meat, thaw it properly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. For tender, juicy results, it’s best to use fresh beef or veal.
Step 2
Rinse the beef, pat it dry well, and slice it into pieces about 1 cm (about 0.4 in) thick. Pound each slice thoroughly with a meat mallet on both sides. To prevent juices from splattering, cover the meat with plastic wrap or a bag.
Step 3
Slice the tomatoes into wedges or rounds. Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm - soft ones won’t hold their shape and can spoil the look of the dish.
Step 4
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. I used a simple fermented cheese, but any cheese you like will work.
Step 5
Place the beef slices into a baking dish greased with vegetable oil. Season the meat with salt and pepper. I also sprinkled utskho-suneli - it makes any meat more aromatic.
Step 6
Spread mayonnaise over the meat.
Step 7
Arrange the tomato slices on top of the meat. Sprinkle everything with the grated cheese. Put the dish into an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for 30-40 minutes.
Step 8
Garnish the finished beef with tomatoes and cheese with fresh herbs and serve. Enjoy your meal!
