Step 1
Instead of beef you can use any other meat you like, but keep in mind that both the cooking time and the calories of the finished dish will change.

Start cooking the rice in advance.

Cut the onion into small cubes.

Grind the cumin (zira) seeds into a fine powder.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a cauldron. First fry the pieces of meat, stirring, then add the chopped onion, mix and fry everything until golden.

Then pour water into the cauldron and stew over low heat until the meat is completely cooked, about 1.5-2 hours. The exact time depends on the size of the meat pieces and on how your stove works.
Step 7
By the end of cooking there should be some sauce left - it will serve as a gravy for the dish. Season to taste with salt, ground black pepper and cumin.
