About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
For juicier meat, use fresh beef or veal. Besides salt and pepper, add spices to your taste. I added a bit of khmeli-suneli. Use any vegetable oil - I used sunflower oil.
Step 2
Wash the beef. Pat dry with paper towels - excess moisture will prevent browning and cause stewing. Cut into medium pieces. If using frozen meat, properly thaw in the refrigerator’s lower shelf. I used pre-cut beef goulash. Any tender meat without tough tendons works well.
Step 3
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the beef and fry, stirring, until a golden crust forms. Sprinkle spices at the end and stir.
Step 4
Pour milk into the skillet. Milk fat content doesn’t matter. You can substitute with 10% cream, but note this will change the calorie content.
Step 5
Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low heat for about 50 minutes until the meat is tender. Time depends on piece size and cut. Increase simmering time if necessary.
Step 6
Sprinkle fresh herbs over the beef in milk and serve with any side dish. I served it with pasta. Enjoy!
