Ingredients
Preparation
Step 1
You can use any type of pasta - shells, elbows, or spirals. Use cream with 10-15% fat content.
Step 2
Pour about 2.5 liters (10 cups) of water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Salt the water, add the pasta, and stir. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Follow the cooking time on the package - pasta should be slightly firm (al dente). Drain in a colander.
Step 3
Meanwhile, prepare the cream sauce. Melt the butter in a skillet.
Step 4
Add flour to the melted butter, mix, and fry for 1-2 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Step 5
Gradually pour in the milk in a thin stream while whisking to prevent lumps. It’s easier to mix in a small amount of liquid at first. Stir until smooth.
Step 6
Add the cream and mix. Stir constantly and heat until slightly thickened (do not boil).
Step 7
Season with salt (considering the saltiness of the cheese). Add ground black pepper or other spices to taste and mix well.
Step 8
Combine the cooked pasta with the creamy sauce and stir thoroughly.
Step 9
Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater. You can use any type of cheese as long as it melts well.
Step 10
Add most of the cheese to the pasta and mix. Reserve some for topping.
Step 11
Transfer the pasta mixture into a baking dish (ceramic or glass works well).
Step 12
Sprinkle the top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs to create a crispy, golden crust while baking.
Step 13
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and forms a light crust.
Step 14
Serve immediately after baking. You can garnish with fresh vegetables or herbs. Enjoy!
