Baked Dumplings in the Oven with Mayonnaise and Milk

Simple, inexpensive, and quick dinner for the whole family! Baked Dumplings in the Oven with Mayonnaise and Milk is more like a casserole with a meat filling. The dough absorbs the liquid well, becoming soft and pasta-like. Even beginners in cooking can easily prepare it.

Preparation
Step 1
You can use homemade or store-bought dumplings. Frozen dumplings are better so the dough doesn’t become too soft. Milk can be any fat content, or a mix of milk and water.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Take a baking dish of suitable size and arrange the dumplings in one or more layers, depending on quantity and dish size.
Step 3
Pour milk over the dumplings so it reaches about halfway. Less milk may be needed if the dumplings are in a single layer.
Step 4
Spread mayonnaise over the top. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Grate cheese on a medium grater. Any tasty, quality cheese works: hard, semi-hard, or soft like mozzarella. Make sure it melts well.
Step 6
Sprinkle the grated cheese over the dumplings.
Step 7
Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven. After 20 minutes, remove the foil but keep the oven on.
Step 8
Bake for another 10-15 minutes until most liquid evaporates and a golden crust forms. Remove from the oven.
Step 9
Serve the baked dumplings in portions like a casserole. They go well with sour cream, mayonnaise, or ketchup. Enjoy!
