Preparation
Step 1
You can cook the chicken whole or cut it into pieces. You can replace it with turkey or any other meat, but cooking time and calorie content will change. I will cook a whole chicken. Frozen chicken can be used, but thaw it first. Use sour cream of any fat content.
Step 2
In a large bowl, add sour cream and mustard.
Step 3
Peel a couple of garlic cloves and press them directly into the bowl. Add salt, sugar, and spices to taste. I use a ready-made chicken seasoning mix. Mix all ingredients together.
Step 4
Rinse the chicken under running water and pat dry with paper towels. Coat it completely with the marinade. You can leave it for a couple of hours to marinate.
Step 5
Slice washed apples, removing the stems. Pour hot water over the prunes. If your prunes are oil-treated, pour boiling water over them, let sit for 10–15 minutes, then drain, rinse with hot water, and pat dry.
Step 6
Stuff the chicken with sliced apples and prunes.
Step 7
Line a baking dish with foil and place the chicken on it. Spread some apples and prunes around it. Cover the top loosely with foil to prevent burning, without sealing it tightly. Place in a preheated oven at 350 °F (180 °C) for about 1 hour. Then remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cooking time may vary.
Step 8
Baked chicken stuffed with prunes and apples is ready! Remove it from the oven, place on a serving dish, and serve hot. Enjoy!
