Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Choose large, firm apples if possible - they’ll hold more filling and stay intact during baking. Use cream cheese like Philadelphia, Almette, etc., not processed! Adjust sugar to taste. You can use vanilla powder instead of vanilla sugar.
Step 2
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) immediately, as prep is quick. Wash and dry the apples. Slice off the top. If they roll, cut a little from the bottom to stabilize them.
Step 3
Use a small knife or spoon to core the apples, removing the seeds and making a deep well for the filling.
Step 4
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, half of one egg, and both types of sugar. Use a spoon or whisk - don’t over whip, so the filling stays dense like cheesecake.
Step 5
Stuff the apples with the cheese mixture.
Step 6
Place the apples in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven and apple size. The filling should set.
Step 7
Let the apples cool completely. The filling tastes better when cold. Before serving, you may sprinkle with cinnamon or crushed nuts. Enjoy!
