Step 1
Cook the pasta in a large pan of salted boiling water according to the packet instructions, then drain well.

Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and chopped bacon and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

Stir in the crushed garlic and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then pour in the cream and heat gently until warmed through.

Add the creamy chicken and bacon sauce to the drained pasta and mix well to coat evenly.

To serve, stir in the fresh basil and cheddar cheese, then spoon the pasta onto serving plates. Garnish with extra grated cheese and basil leaves for a finishing touch.
