Preparation
Step 1
Apples of any size and variety can be used. Sweet and aromatic apples are best. Choose high-quality condensed milk without milk fat substitutes, containing only milk and sugar.
Step 2
Wash the apples thoroughly and dry them.
Step 3
First method: peel the apples, cut into quarters, and remove the core. This method makes it easy to blend later.
Step 4
Second method: cut apples into quarters and remove the core but leave the peel. Later, you need to press them through a sieve. This is more labor-intensive but produces a thicker puree due to the pectin in the peel.
Step 5
Place the prepared apples in an enameled pot or cooking bowl. Add water, put on the stove, and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Cook the apples over medium heat for about 20 minutes until soft. Time depends on the firmness of the apples. Cover the pot to speed up cooking and stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Step 7
Pass the cooked apples through a fine sieve using a wooden spoon or pestle. If peeled, simply blend with a hand or stationary blender.
Step 8
Return the puree to the pot and add the condensed milk. Stir and cook for 8-10 minutes. Be careful, as the puree may splatter. Cover if needed and stir to prevent sticking.
Step 9
Remove from heat and blend again for a lighter, airy texture (optional). Return to the stove and bring to a boil once more.
Step 10
Wash and sterilize jars in advance using your preferred method: oven, steam, or microwave. Boil lids for 5 minutes.
Step 11
Pour hot puree into dry jars up to the top and seal tightly. Turn upside down and wrap in a blanket or towel. Leave until completely cool. Store in the fridge.
Step 12
In winter, open a jar and enjoy a delicious, nostalgic dessert.
