Amaretti biscuits

For this recipe, of course, you should use amaretto liqueur.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170C.
Step 2
In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until they reach a firm consistency. Gently mix in the sugar and ground almonds. Add the amaretto liqueur and fold it in carefully until the mixture forms a smooth paste.
Step 3
Line a baking tray with baking paper and lightly brush it with butter. Drop small spoonfuls of the mixture onto the tray, spacing them approximately 2cm/¾in apart to allow for spreading during baking. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies turn golden brown.
Step 4
Let them cool slightly before serving, or store them in an airtight container to keep fresh.
