Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a 5-minute microwave cake quickly and deliciously? Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Crack the egg into a bowl. Pour in the milk. It can be of any fat content. The main thing is that the milk is fresh and natural.
Step 3
Add the sugar to the bowl with the egg and milk. Fine sugar works best. It can be regular white sugar, cane sugar, or brown sugar.
Step 4
Pour the vegetable oil into the bowl. Use refined oil so the smell of seeds does not overpower the aroma of the other ingredients. You can also use olive oil.
Step 5
Beat everything until smooth. You can do this by hand with a whisk or use a mixer.
Step 6
Sift the all-purpose flour into the bowl with the mixture through a fine sieve. This will remove any impurities and enrich the flour with oxygen. It is best to use high-grade flour, as the cake will turn out airier. You may need a little less or a little more flour, so judge by the desired consistency of the batter.
Step 7
Add the cocoa powder to the bowl. The cocoa should be high quality and without any additives such as sugar or dry milk. It is also best to sift the cocoa powder, just like the flour, to break up any lumps and mix it evenly into the batter.
Step 8
Add the baking powder and vanilla sugar. Instead of vanilla sugar, you can use vanilla or vanilla powder. But if you replace vanilla sugar, the quantity will be different. Add vanilla powder only on the tip of a knife, because a larger amount can make the finished dessert bitter.
Step 9
Mix everything well until smooth. The batter should be like thick sour cream.
Step 10
Take a pan that is suitable for use in the microwave and grease it with vegetable oil. Line the bottom with parchment paper. If you like tall cakes, as we do, use a pan 12-14 cm in diameter, about 4 3/4-5 1/2 inches. If you want a cake with two layers, a pan 18 cm in diameter, about 7 inches, will work well.
Step 11
Transfer the batter to the pan and level it out. Make a small indentation in the center of the batter. This will help the finished cake layer avoid rising into a dome and stay level.
Step 12
Place the pan in the microwave on the turntable and close the door. Cook at 900 W for 3-4 minutes. First bake for 3 minutes, check for doneness, and if needed cook for 1 more minute. After the microwave turns off, leave the cake inside for another 5 minutes so the sponge finishes cooking.
Step 13
Remove the pan from the microwave and take out the finished sponge. Remove the paper from the bottom of the sponge and place it on a rack until it cools completely. You can use the grill rack from the microwave. Do not leave the sponge in the pan, because it will become damp from steam as it cools.
Step 14
Cut the cooled sponge into 3 layers.
Step 15
Spread the bottom layer with chocolate spread. Instead of that, you can use dulce de leche or whipped cream.
Step 16
Spread the filling on the layers and assemble the cake.
Step 17
Cover the whole cake with chocolate spread. Leave a little for decorating.
Step 18
Dry the walnuts slightly in a dry frying pan, chop them with a knife or in a blender, and press them onto the sides and surface of the cake.
Step 19
Decorate the top with the reserved chocolate spread and serve. Or place the cake in the refrigerator for a few hours so it can soak.
Step 20
Serve the cake with hot, aromatic tea, coffee, or cocoa. Enjoy your meal!
