Preparation
Step 1
You can replace regular zucchini with courgettes. Use any sour cream - mine was 20% fat, but make sure it’s not too watery. Choose any cheese that melts well and tastes good.
Step 2
Wash the zucchini thoroughly and cut into slices. For the best result, use young zucchini with tender skin - you don’t need to peel it. If using mature ones, remove the tough skin and scoop out the seeds.
Step 3
Wash, dry, and finely chop the dill. You can also add other herbs like parsley, cilantro, or green onions.
Step 4
Mix the sour cream with chopped herbs, garlic (pressed through a garlic press), salt, and pepper. You can also add your favorite spices or dried herbs to taste.
Step 5
Stir everything thoroughly until smooth.
Step 6
Grate the cheese using a medium or fine grater. I used a semi-hard type, but you can use mozzarella for pizza, brynza, Adyghe, or suluguni. If using Caucasian cheeses, add some cilantro along with dill.
Step 7
Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Arrange the zucchini slices slightly overlapping each other.
Step 8
Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the zucchini.
Step 9
Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven. Enjoy your meal!
