- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Adjust salt and flour as needed. Cheese recommendation: mozzarella or any hard cheese. You can make plain yeast buns too.
Step 2
Prepare a sponge by mixing warm water, dry yeast, and sugar in a deep bowl. Stir and let stand 10-15 minutes.
Step 3
Add vegetable oil, salt, and sour cream; mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Gradually add sifted flour, adjusting for dough consistency.
Step 5
Mix first with a spoon, then by hand. Dough should be soft and slightly sticky.
Step 6
Knead for 3-5 minutes. Oil a deep bowl, place dough inside, cover with a towel, and let rise 50-60 minutes in a warm place.
Step 7
Optional: for added interest, dice ham into small cubes. Make a shallow depression in the dough, add ham, knead, and add a bit of flour if needed.
Step 8
Cut cheese into small pieces.
Step 9
Divide dough (with or without ham) into 12 equal parts.
Step 10
Make a shallow depression in each piece and insert cheese.
Step 11
Pinch the dough well to enclose the cheese. Repeat with all pieces.
Step 12
Line a baking tray with parchment and place buns seam-side down, leaving space between them. Cover with a towel and let rest 30 minutes.
Step 13
Meanwhile, prepare an egg and a mixture of vegetable oil, garlic, and herbs for brushing.
Step 14
Beat the egg. Mix oil, grated garlic, and herbs.
Step 15
Brush buns with the egg mixture using a silicone brush.
Step 16
Bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Adjust time and temperature depending on your oven. Halfway, brush remaining buns with egg and sprinkle sesame or flax seeds. Return to oven.
Step 17
Remove the tray, brush remaining buns with garlic-herb mixture. Cover finished buns with a towel for 10 minutes.
Step 18
Serve while cheese is still warm; buns are incredibly tasty!
