Stewed Cabbage with Rice and Meat in a Frying Pan
A delicious and hearty main course for the whole family! Stewed cabbage with rice and meat in a frying pan is convenient because you cook both the meat and side dish at once. Pork pairs perfectly with both cabbage and rice, and the preparation doesn’t take long!

Preparation
Step 1
You can use pork from any part of the carcass; I prefer meat with a little fat. Use long-grain rice so it doesn’t overcook and turn mushy.
Step 2
Peel the onion and carrot, then rinse under running water. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot frying pan, add the vegetables, and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Then add a spoon of tomato paste and stir.
Step 3
Cut the pork into small pieces.
Step 4
Add the meat to the pan with the vegetables. Stir and fry together for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t burn. Season with a little salt and your favorite spices.
Step 5
While the meat is cooking, prepare the rice and cabbage. Rinse the rice several times in cold water, then drain. Finely shred the cabbage.
Step 6
Add the cabbage to the frying pan with the meat and pour in a little water. Cover and stew for about 10 minutes.
Step 7
Add the rinsed rice, pour in a bit more water, and continue stewing for another 15-20 minutes, until the rice is cooked and soft. Adjust the water as needed - if the rice is still firm but all liquid has evaporated, add a bit more.
Step 8
Stewed cabbage with rice and meat is ready! Serve hot.
Step 9
Enjoy your meal!
