Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Instead of a whole chicken, you can use parts like drumsticks, thighs, wings, or breasts. Pluck, clean, and wash the chicken thoroughly.
Step 2
Peel potatoes, carrots, and onions, then rinse them in cold water. Remove tough or damaged leaves from the cabbage.
Step 3
Cut the chicken into small, equal pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Step 4
Heat odorless vegetable oil in a cauldron, pot, deep pan, or roasting dish. Add the chicken pieces and start frying.
Step 5
Cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown - about 5-10 minutes.
Step 6
Meanwhile, cut the potatoes into small pieces, dice the onion, and grate or slice the carrot into thin sticks.
Step 7
Add the carrots and onions to the chicken and sauté for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 8
Add the potatoes, salt, and your favorite spices (a pinch of ground pepper works well). Stir and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Step 9
Chop the cabbage into large strips or cubes - however you prefer.
Step 10
Add the cabbage to the pot with the other ingredients.
Step 11
In a glass, dilute tomato paste with water to your desired consistency.
Step 12
You can also use fresh tomatoes instead of tomato paste. Wash and slice them if you prefer this option.
Step 13
Pour the tomato mixture (and/or tomatoes) into the pot. Add a bay leaf. Stir everything gently but thoroughly.
Step 14
Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your cookware and vegetable size.
Step 15
Finely chop fresh herbs (parsley, green onions, or dill).
Step 16
Sprinkle the herbs over the finished dish and remove it from heat.
Step 17
Serve hot, with bread or as a standalone meal. Enjoy!
