Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use either fresh or frozen broccoli - I usually prefer fresh.
Step 2
Rinse the broccoli and divide it into florets. You can make them large, medium, or small - it’s up to you. The size of the florets will affect the cooking time. Peel and rinse the garlic, then dry it. Chop the cloves into small pieces.
Step 3
A pot or skillet works well for stewing. I usually use a skillet. Pour olive or vegetable oil into it, place over heat, and warm it up. Add the garlic and cook for just a few seconds until it becomes slightly translucent.
Step 4
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for a few seconds.
Step 5
Pour in a small amount of water - just enough to cover the broccoli a bit less than halfway. The exact amount of water will depend on your skillet’s size and shape. Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes.
Step 6
Remove the lid and salt to taste. At this point, you can add dried herbs and black pepper. I love adding a pinch of nutmeg, which pairs perfectly with broccoli. A bit of sweet paprika also works great.
Step 7
Stir everything, increase the heat, and let any remaining liquid evaporate completely.
Step 8
The broccoli is ready! Serve it hot or cold.
Step 9
It’s delicious on its own or served with fish, cutlets, or meat.
