Step 1
How to make squid salad with cheese, eggs, and cucumber? Prepare all needed ingredients. Use any cheese you like: hard, semi-hard, or creamy.
Step 2
Thaw the squid, clean off the skin and insides. Remove the thin transparent film from the squid body. Place the seafood into boiling salted water, bring back to a boil and cook for about 1 minute over medium heat. Remove immediately so it doesn’t turn tough.
Step 3
Cool the cooked squid and slice into thin strips.
Step 4
Peel the red onion and chop it into small cubes. To remove bitterness, pour boiling water over the chopped onion and leave until cooled. Drain the water.
Step 5
Cook the eggs. To make hard-boiled eggs, place them in cold water and heat over medium-low heat. Boil for 9 minutes after boiling begins, then cool under cold water. This makes peeling easier. Reserve two yolks for decorating the top layer. Cut the remaining eggs into thin strips.

Wash and dry the cucumbers. Trim the ends. If the skin is soft, undamaged, and not bitter, do not peel it. Slice the cucumbers into thin strips.

Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater.

To shape the salad, you may use a culinary ring. Place it on a flat plate. Add the squid at the bottom and press lightly.

Sprinkle chopped red onion on top.

Add a thin layer of mayonnaise.

Place the cucumbers on top. Level and lightly press each layer.

Add another thin mayonnaise layer.

Spread the chopped eggs on top and cover with mayonnaise.

Add the grated cheese.

Top with a net of mayonnaise.

Finish the salad by sprinkling finely grated yolks. Refrigerate for 1 hour so the salad absorbs flavors.
