About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Pour the required amount of water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Add salt.
Step 2
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water. Stir immediately to prevent sticking. Bring it back to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for the time indicated on the package. Taste to check for doneness.
Step 3
Drain the cooked spaghetti in a colander to remove excess water.
Step 4
While the spaghetti is cooking, heat a frying pan and add a bit of vegetable oil. Peel the onion and garlic. Finely chop the onion and press the garlic through a garlic press. Add them to the hot pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes over low heat until golden.
Step 5
Then add tomato paste to the pan. If it’s too thick, add a little water from the pasta pot. Mix well and continue cooking on slightly lower heat to prevent burning.
Step 6
Bring the sauce to a gentle boil and cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning - add salt, sugar, and spices if needed.
Step 7
By this time, the spaghetti should be ready. Add the pasta to the sauce in the pan, mix well, and heat everything together until evenly hot. Serve immediately. Enjoy your meal!
