About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can adjust or add ingredients to your taste - for example, sweet bell pepper or Chinese cabbage. Croutons can be wheat or rye, store-bought with flavoring, or homemade. I used rye croutons with “Sour Cream” flavor.
Step 2
Drain the liquid from the canned corn and beans. It’s best to rinse and dry the beans.
Step 3
Slice the tomatoes into wedges. Choose firm tomatoes - soft ones will lose shape and make the salad watery. If your tomatoes are very juicy, remove the seedy core, keeping only the flesh.
Step 4
Cut the ham into thin strips. Choose any type you like - regular, smoked pork neck, ham, or pork loin.
Step 5
Slice the cucumbers into thin strips as well. If the skin is smooth, tender, and not bitter, you don’t need to peel it.
Step 6
In a large bowl, combine the ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, canned beans, and corn.
Step 7
Add mayonnaise and croutons. If you’re not serving the salad immediately (within 10-15 minutes), do not add the mayonnaise and croutons yet, as they’ll quickly soften - especially wheat ones - and lose crunch.
Step 8
Mix everything well and serve immediately. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley or green onion before serving. Enjoy your meal!
