Preparation
Step 1
How to cook pumpkin porridge in a multicooker? Prepare all the necessary ingredients to make porridge without using any grains. If you like, you can later add vanillin or fresh berries to taste. Choose pumpkin with bright orange flesh so the porridge turns out vividly colored.
Step 2
Cut the pumpkin into pieces, remove the seeds, and trim off the peel. If the skin is very tough, cut the pumpkin into smaller pieces first - this makes it easier to remove. Dice the peeled pumpkin and place it in the multicooker bowl. The smaller the pieces, the more the pumpkin will break down.
Step 3
Pour milk into the bowl with the pumpkin. You can use cream instead of milk for a more delicate, creamier porridge. Add sugar to the pumpkin and milk. You can replace regular sugar with cane or brown sugar - then the porridge will have a light caramel note.
Step 4
Close the multicooker lid and set the “Stew” mode for 40 minutes. My model is set for 30 minutes, so after the beep I had to run the program again for 10 more minutes.
Step 5
Transfer the cooked pumpkin to a bowl and mash it with a potato masher. If you want it completely smooth with no pieces, blend everything with a blender. Taste the pumpkin porridge and adjust with sugar and salt if desired. If serving hot, you can enrich it with butter.
Step 6
Enjoy your meal!
