Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
If you’re using young potatoes, peeling isn’t necessary. Just wash them thoroughly under running water with a brush. I peeled mine.
Step 2
Slice the peeled potatoes very thinly, about 1-2 mm (¹⁄₁₆ inch) thick. You can use a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife. Place the slices in water to rinse off excess starch.
Step 3
Then spread the potato slices on a paper towel folded in 2-3 layers, and cover with another layer on top to remove all excess moisture.
Step 4
Brush the potato slices lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and spices of your choice. I used paprika.
Step 5
The easiest way to cook the chips is on the microwave’s own turntable plate - it’s flat and large. You can also use any other microwave-safe plate. Line it with a paper towel and arrange the potato slices in a single layer. Microwave at maximum power (750-800 W) for 3 minutes, then flip the slices and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until golden.
Step 6
The ready chips will turn golden and crispy. Transfer them to another plate and enjoy!
Step 7
Serve the chips with any dipping sauce you like - I prefer sour cream sauce with herbs and garlic. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Enjoy your snack!
