Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
I use Chinese rice, but you can use any other type - long-grain or round.
Step 2
Rinse the rice under cold running water at least 7-8 times, until the water runs completely clear. This simple step removes starch, which causes the grains to stick together during cooking.
Step 3
Place the rice into the multicooker bowl, pour in boiling water, add salt and oil, and stir. Using boiling water is key to getting fluffy rice. Cook the rice on the appropriate setting - I used the “Multicook” mode at 212°F (100°C) for 20 minutes. The exact time and setting may vary depending on your multicooker model, so check your manual. The cooking time also depends on the rice variety.
Step 4
After about 10-15 minutes, check the rice for doneness and continue cooking if needed. Once ready, stir and leave it on Keep Warm mode for about 30 minutes. If your multicooker doesn’t have this mode, simply let the rice sit under a closed lid.
Step 5
Serve the rice with soy sauce as a standalone dish or as a side dish. Enjoy!
